Ahmed Shahani is an Associate at ABS & Co.’s Lahore office. He holds an LLB (Hons) from City, University of London and was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Courts in 2024. His practice spans corporate and commercial law, real estate and infrastructure development, and public sector advisory. He regularly advises public and private sector clients on corporate and commercial matters, infrastructure projects, public procurement, and regulatory compliance. His work includes drafting joint venture agreements, islamic finance agreements, commercial contracts, and legislative drafting. He has experience preparing legal opinions and reviewing complex agreements for compliance with statutory and sector-specific requirements. Alongside his advisory practice, Ahmed appears before the High Courts, Civil and Sessions Courts, Labour Courts, and quasi-judicial tribunals in matters involving writ petitions, procurement disputes, real estate litigation, and commercial claims. He has acted for major government bodies such as the Ravi Urban Development Authority, Punjab Central Business District Development Authority, One Central Vista (Pvt.) Limited, Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Pakistan Railways, and WASA. In the private sector, he has represented clients including PSBA UK, US Group, Din Industries Limited, McDonald’s Pakistan, and Din Gardens Faisalabad.
• Drafted JV agreements for three joint venture projects of RUDA covering 1000, 200, and 150 acres, including advising on project structuring, key legal safeguards, and execution.
• Drafted the agreement to sell for City Walk, a 14-kanal pedestrian-friendly commercial development in Din Gardens Faisalabad, featuring retail, dining, and lifestyle zones.
• Represented client before the Civil Court Lahore in a real estate dispute concerning a 143 sq. ft. commercial shop in Bahria Orchard.
• Advised and drafted project contracts for One Central Vista (Pvt.) Limited, including:
o Design consultancy agreements for the Grand Bazaar and 8-marla commercial units.
o Gas supply arrangements with SNGPL
o Agreements for underground relocation of 132KV and 11KV lines with LESCO.
o Tender documentation for underground electricity infrastructure International Transactions & Foreign Exchange.
• Advised PSBA UK on a cross-border transaction for the repatriation of shares and assets, ensuring full compliance with foreign exchange laws and regulatory procedures.
• Represented Maqbool Associates before the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority, securing cancellation of the procurement process and re-initiation of competitive bidding.
• Prepared Islamic financing agreements for US Group, including Istisna, Wakalah, and Murabaha contracts, structured in accordance with Shariah-compliant financial principles.
• Drafted regulations for RUDA, including Joint Venture, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Transfer & Estate Management, Land Procurement, and Social Responsibility Regulations.
• Advised RUDA on the regularization process of its employees, ensuring compliance with statutes governing labour and employment law.
• Drafted Land Procurement Regulations for PCBDDA to govern land acquisition by the Authority.
