Our antitrust group draws on more than three decades of experience advising clients on antitrust and competition issues. We offer unique services by building cross-disciplinary teams that can help our clients navigate through regulatory and compliance issues.

We have advised on all major aspects of competition law including pre-merger approvals and defense of transactions; government investigation into cartels and anti-competitive practices; civil and criminal antitrust litigation and general advice and compliance matters.

Some of our key work highlights include advising:

  • Lafarge in a complaint made to the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) in relation to deceptive marketing practices against competitors
  • Lotte in a complaint made to the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) in relation to prohibited agreements (restrictive trade agreements) and abuse of dominant market position against Engro Vopak
  • Clover before the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in enforcement proceedings concerning a number of violations of company law pertaining to disposal of assets, directors’ duties to disclose, and false statements in accounts
  • Bank of Punjab in a complaint against an asset management company concerning violations of NBFC regulations in redemption of units
  • Telenor before the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in 5 different yet simultaneous enforcement proceedings concerning violations of company law pertaining to investments in associate undertakings, disposal of assets, provident fund issues
  • Murree Brewery in relation to the filing of a complaint before the Competition Commission of Pakistan against prohibitive practices in the market
  • Ufone, a major telecommunications operator, in relation to the applicability of competition law with respect to certain services
  • Mega & Forbe on the competitive aspects of providing consultancy services in respect of the Takeovers Ordinance 2002
  • Nova Synpac (Pvt) Limited on the competitive aspects of its Shareholders’ Agreement and Management Agreement with National Bags Factory Limited
  • CAPGAS in relation to the competitive aspects of the imposition of a signing bonus before the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA)
  • Agritech in filing a complaint before OGRA with respect to the supply of natural gas on grounds of non-competitive market practices
  • Rymarz-Zdort, a Polish company, on pre-merger thresholds under the competition laws of Pakistan
