ABS & Co is pleased to have recently advised Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, a leading Pakistani three-wheeler manufacturer and pioneer in low-emission and electric mobility solutions, in its expansion into international markets by handling the full cycle of international supply chain arrangements and cross-border contractual, regulatory, and compliance matters critical to its global strategy.
Our work covered the full cycle of Sazgar’s international supply chain arrangements, from drafting and negotiating long-term export contracts to advising on risk allocation, customs and tax implications, and dispute resolution frameworks. We also advised on product liability exposure, intellectual property protections, and safeguards relating to anti-corruption, human rights, and labour compliance, ensuring that Sazgar’s agreements met international trade and governance standards.
With electric vehicles becoming a central feature of Sazgar’s business model, ABS & Co was closely engaged in advising on regulatory frameworks and market-entry considerations for EV deployment abroad. This included supporting the company in structuring supply agreements with Mexican counterparties, balancing Pakistan’s domestic manufacturing regulations with Mexico’s commercial, transport, and tax regimes. The agreements, designed for long-term renewability, formed a cornerstone of Sazgar’s ambition to position itself as a global contributor to sustainable mobility.
This engagement reflects ABS & Co’s ability to deliver commercially effective legal solutions in complex, multi-jurisdictional settings and highlights our role in supporting Pakistan’s private sector as it enters new markets and aligns with the global transition toward clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. The ABS & Co team working on this assignment consisted of Ahmed Reza Mirza and Khadeeja Ahmad.
