Maaz Ul Mulk is an Associate at the firm’s Islamabad office, where he works as part of the Tax Advisory and Litigation as well as the Corporate, Commercial and Compliance practice. He advises a diverse portfolio of clients, including statutory bodies and prominent corporations across the tobacco, non-profit, and service sectors, on complex tax and regulatory matters. His work encompasses both advisory and contentious tax issues, and he frequently represents clients before various regulatory and appellate tax forums across Pakistan. As part of the Tax practice, Maaz has handled disputes relating to income tax, sales tax, and federal excise, as well as customs classification and valuation issues. He routinely advises on import and export compliance, tax exemptions, withholding obligations, and matters involving inter-jurisdictional taxation. He also regularly represents the Punjab Revenue Authority before the Honourable Lahore High Court in provincial sales tax references. Maaz also works as part of the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure practice, where he advises on tariff frameworks, regulatory policy, and licensing matters. He has represented clients before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and its Tribunal in matters concerning tariff determinations, project approvals, and regulatory compliance. In addition, Maaz contributes to the firm’s Banking and Finance practice. He has advised National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) as counsel in connection with the due diligence of consumer loan portfolios acquired by NBP from Small and Medium Enterprises Bank. He also advises commercial banks, microfinance institutions, and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) on a range of issues, including financial transactions, asset recovery, and compliance before the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
