NTDC’s plea before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority

As the regulator of the power sector in Pakistan, NEPRA imposed a fine amounting to PKR 10 million on National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) for the alleged failure of the national grid leading to an incident of partial blackout on 22 May 2021. It was contended by NTDC that the failure of the national grid was a direct consequence of winds cyclones, which caused the transmission lines to trip and resulted in the collapse and damage of the towers.

ABS & Co has filed review petitions on behalf of NTDC before NEPRA, challenging the imposition of fine by NEPRA on NTDC.

Our team representing NTDC is led by Sarjeel Mowahid and Ahmed Reza Mirza.
