We are pleased to share that Ena Murakami, Kanzal Abbas and Zain Kashif have been promoted to Senior Associates.
Ena, based in the Lahore office, specialises in corporate and commercial law with a focus on mergers, acquisitions, regulatory compliance and corporate governance, and earned her LLB from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She is part of the legal counsel team for Google and TallyMarks Consulting, having assisted in the establishment of Google’s first incorporated entity in Pakistan and in TMC’s acquisition of Siemens Pakistan’s SAP ERP reselling business, and advises NBFCs including Tez Financial Services (Zood), Goldfin and Postex, as well as clients such as the Orient Group of Companies, Oilco Petroleum, McDonald’s, Engro Corp and Nintendo. Her work spans corporate restructurings, Schemes of Arrangement before the Lahore High Court, and shareholder disputes, across a practice covering technology, fintech, manufacturing, construction and infrastructure in Pakistan and internationally.
Kanzal is part of the Corporate and Commercial Department with over three years of experience advising clients on a wide range of business and regulatory matters. He is skilled in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, delivering strategic legal opinions on corporate and contractual issues, and managing procurement-related transactions, and regularly appears before lower courts and specialised tribunals.
Zain, a Barrister, works out of the Lahore office as an integral member of the Commercial and Corporate, Real Estate, Construction, and Dispute Resolution departments. He earned his Master’s degree in Legal Practice (Bar) from BPP University, London, and was called to the Bar of England & Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in March 2023. He has focused on legislative drafting, arbitrations, contractual advisory, banking litigation and constitutional litigation, contributing regulatory counsel and commercial agreements for projects of substantial value to the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority, actively representing McDonald’s in rental disputes, and handling corporate and commercial matters for clients including Oilco Petroleum, Hardees, Tracking.me and Mughals Pakistan.
