Mr. Shazr Ahmed Qureshi holds a Diploma in Law and a Bachelor in Laws (LLB-Honors) Degree from the University of London. Mr. Shazr has been practicing since 2019 and has an experience of almost 4 years.  

Prior to joining ABS & Co, Mr. Shazr was associated with reputable law firms including Kundi & Misbah Lawyers & Corporate Consultants, where he started his legal career and gained vast experience in various areas of legal practice, under the pupilage of Mr. Attaullah Kundi, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan. Mr. Shazr was also associated with Ajuris Advocates & Corporate Consultants, where he assisted the recently appointed Honorable Mr. Justice Babar Sattar, in multiple high profile matters, through his exceptional research and drafting skills. He has developed substantial expertise in dispute resolution and routinely represents clients before different forums including District Courts of Pakistan, High Courts, NAB, Special Tribunals and other judicial/quasi-judicial bodies.

Moreover, Mr. Shazr is currently dealing with 45 cases, which are pending for adjudication before the Islamabad District Courts, Banking Court and High Courts of Islamabad and Peshawar, the nature of which cover contractual matters, which include disputes involving international entities regarding procurement of machineries and validity of bank guarantees, wherein questions regarding definition of a “legal person” has also been adjudicated upon.  Mr. Shazr is also handling criminal complaints under the Offences in Respect of Banks (Special Courts), 1984, service matter, other contractual matters, which include disputes regarding surety bonds, bank guarantees etc., as well as high profile criminal matters. He recently appeared and apprised the Honorable Islamabad High Court, successfully in a high profile bail matter. 

Mr. Shazr also assists one of the Associate Partner of the firm, in multiple matters pending before the Honourable Islamabad High Court, including a writ petition filed to challenge the vires of the newly introduced Section 7E of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, which pertains to deemed income tax on immovable property.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Shazr also deals with transactional work at the firm, including but not limited to; providing legal opinion to multiple clients on various matters regarding complex legal issues, legal vetting of MoUs and agreements of highly sensitive nature, involving different States and high profile institutions. Furthermore, Mr. Shazr has drafted policies, specifically IT Policies for a not for profit company established under the Companies Act, 2017. 

Mr. Shazr also has experience of serving on the legal panel of Organizations, including Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and various other private entities.
